Canterbury & the Garden of England
Canterbury Cathedral, the seat of the Anglican Communion, plus Leeds Castle and the vineyards and gardens of Kent.
Kent is known as the Garden of England, and our day tour shows you exactly why. We start in Canterbury — site of the cathedral that has been the mother church of the Anglican Communion for over 1,400 years and the destination of Chaucer's pilgrims. A private cathedral tour covers the medieval architecture and the site of the murder of Thomas Becket.
After lunch in Canterbury's old town, we drive across to Leeds Castle — built on two islands in the middle of a lake and described by Lord Conway as 'the loveliest castle in the world'. Optional vineyard stops at Chapel Down or Gusbourne, both producing internationally award-winning English sparkling wine.
