Cambridge & East Anglia
The other ancient university — gothic chapels, willow-lined backs and a punt down the River Cam.
Cambridge makes for a beautifully composed day out of London — quieter than Oxford, more compact, and arguably more photogenic. We begin with a guided tour of King's College Chapel — the most perfect gothic interior in England — followed by Trinity, St John's and a walk along The Backs.
After lunch at a riverside pub, we'll arrange a private punt down the Cam (chauffeur-poled, naturally), followed by tea at the Orchard at Grantchester — the famous Edwardian tea garden frequented by Rupert Brooke, Bertrand Russell and Wittgenstein.
