Cotswolds & Stratford-upon-Avon
Honey-stone villages, ancient market towns and Shakespeare's birthplace — England at its most photogenic.
The Cotswolds is the England of imagination — rolling hills, dry-stone walls, postcard villages built of honey-coloured limestone, and pubs that have been pulling pints since Henry VIII was on the throne. Our day tour takes in the most photogenic villages — Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury, Castle Combe and Stow-on-the-Wold — with stops for coffee, lunch and antique-hunting at your pace.
On a longer two-day version we add Stratford-upon-Avon for a guided tour of Shakespeare's birthplace, Anne Hathaway's cottage and an evening at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Overnight at a country-house hotel in the Cotswolds chosen to your brief.
- —Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water, Castle Combe
- —Antique shopping in Stow-on-the-Wold
- —Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon (extended tour)
- —Country pub lunch arranged in advance
