Lake District & Cumbria
Wordsworth's country — mirror lakes, dramatic fells and some of the finest country-house hotels in Britain.
The Lake District is a long enough drive from London to deserve a proper multi-day stay. Our standard programme is two nights at one of the region's leading country-house hotels — Sharrow Bay on Ullswater, The Samling above Windermere, or Linthwaite House — with a dedicated driver-guide for the whole trip.
Days are built around what you want to do: a guided walk up Catbells, a steam-launch on Ullswater, a private tour of Wordsworth's Dove Cottage at Grasmere, an afternoon at Holker Hall, or a low-key driving day to take in the passes — Wrynose, Hardknott, Honister, Kirkstone.
- —Steam-launch cruise on Ullswater or Windermere
- —Wordsworth's Dove Cottage at Grasmere
- —Driving the Wrynose and Hardknott passes
- —Two nights at a Michelin-starred country-house hotel
Every itinerary is bespoke. The above is illustrative — your day or trip is built around your interests, mobility, dining preferences and pace. Tell us what you'd like to see and we'll design around it.
