Things worth knowing
- The value of the week is in the fringe events, which are scattered - hourly hire beats venue-to-venue transfers.
- Visiting delegations often need two or three vehicles moving together; we run them under one dispatch contact.
- Same-night departures to City Airport are tight after an 18:30 dinner - we plan the cut-off with you.
London Tech Week chauffeur hire - frequently asked questions
Why hourly hire rather than transfers for a conference?
Because London Tech Week is not one venue. The keynotes are at Olympia but the fringe programme - the part most delegates actually come for - runs across the City, Shoreditch, King's Cross and Mayfair, often with under an hour between commitments. Hourly hire keeps the car and your laptop bag with you and removes the re-booking friction at every hop.
Can you move a visiting delegation in convoy?
Yes, and it is common during the week. Two or three vehicles run under a single dispatch contact and one booking reference, so the whole group arrives together and leaves together, with one point of escalation if a session overruns. Consolidated invoicing means the finance side stays simple for the host company.
Is a same-night flight realistic after an evening dinner?
From London City, sometimes; from Heathrow, rarely after a 20:30 finish. We will tell you the honest cut-off rather than accept the booking and hope. If a dinner in Mayfair matters more than the flight, it is usually better to move to a first-wave departure the following morning and use the car for both legs.
Can the car carry demo kit and stand materials?
Yes - specify it at booking so we send a V-Class rather than an executive saloon. Laptops, demo hardware, banner stands and boxes of printed material do not fit in a saloon boot alongside passengers, and load-in windows at Olympia are timed. We can also run a materials-only leg to the venue ahead of your arrival.
What does a day-rate booking for London Tech Week include, and when is a single transfer enough?
A day-rate booking keeps the same chauffeur and the same vehicle with you for the whole of London Tech Week - the car holds your coats and kit, there is no waiting charge, and an overrun simply extends the agreed hours. A single transfer suits guests attending one session with a firm finish time. Lead-in pricing for London Tech Week starts at £95 in the Mercedes S-Class; day hire is quoted on the hours and vehicle you need. All prices shown are indicative lead-in fares for the vehicle named and are subject to change - your final quote is confirmed in writing at the time of booking.
Which vehicle actually suits London Tech Week, rather than which is most expensive?
Mercedes E-Class or S-Class Bear in mind what travels with you: laptops, demo kit, printed decks and delegate bags. The Mercedes S-Class is our recommendation here. Tell us the passenger count, the luggage and whether anyone is in formal dress, and we will specify the car on that basis rather than upselling you into a larger one you do not need.
What does your chauffeur know about Olympia & central venues that an app driver will not?
Pre-set routes between Heathrow / Farnborough, key hotels and venue zones. Driver carries spare laptops chargers and bottled water. Our drivers are briefed on the approved set-down (olympia's hammersmith road set-down; satellite venues across the city, shoreditch and king's cross) and on where the vehicle may legally hold between drop-off and collection. That briefing is the difference between a car that meets you and a car that cannot reach you.
Can you collect guests from several addresses and run more than one car for London Tech Week?
Yes. Multi-pickup and multi-vehicle work is routine for London Tech Week: we plan the route so the whole party arrives together, run two or three cars in convoy where needed, and give you one dispatch contact and one booking reference for all of them. Convoy work is quoted per vehicle rather than at the lead-in fare, and is confirmed in writing before the day.
